This piece was inspired by an project I completed in college, in a traditional illustration class. I remember doing this project, and being intimidated because I had never worked in watercolor before, and at the time hated working in color period. Upon completion of the assignment, I felt so proud and excited, but didn’t return to watercolors until years later. Looking back at that particular piece, I realized how far I have come as an artist and decided to recreate the illustration using the techniques I know now. Below is the final result, one of the largest scale pieces I have created to date.
