The Spaghetti Express

9” x 12” Alcohol Markers and Calligraphy Ink

There is a photo saved in my camera roll of my son, shortly after his first birthday, sitting on his new toy train with all of his birthday balloons strung to the back. The way he was sitting, mixed with the balloons and the expression on his face, I immediately had a vision for what he may have been imagining in that moment. I often try to put myself inside his mind, and the purity and innocence of a toddler’s mind is one of the most fun things for me to imagine. Once I sat down to sketch this illustration out, the details quickly materialized and the train became The Spaghetti Express.
